Adaptable native evergreen shrub with a dense, rounded, multi-stemmed form, ideal for screening, hedges, or foundation plantings. Female plants produce bright red berries for winter interest and wildlife, while its evergreen leaves naturally contain caffeine and have a long history of use for brewing tea. It grows well in a wide range of soil textures, including sandy, loamy, and clay soils.
